Homoween is the VGVA's annual for-fun Halloween tournament. If you have never participated in a volleyball tournament before, this is a great way to start. But don't delay - this tournament always sells out fast!
The theme for the tournament this year is VILLAINS. With that in mind, teams are encouraged to dress up in their best villain inspired costume. Feel free to get creative with your interpretation of the theme. Prizes are given out to the team with the best costume. Just make sure you can still play in whatever you’re wearing.
We are excited to announce that this year's Homoween charity of choice is The Red Fox Health Society. The Red Fox Health Society is a local organization that serves Indigenous and inner-city children, youth, and families. Their recreation, food, and cultural programs foster healthy, active living, leadership, and employment training. The money raised at Homoween will be put towards Red Fox Health Society's new queer-run recreation program for LGBTQ and two-spirit youth. More information about this organization can be found here: https://redfoxsociety.org/

The Homoween Tournament has four divisions: A (5 teams), BB (7 teams), B (7 teams), and C (5 teams). A is the most competitive division followed by BB, B, and C. Teams are encouraged to register early to help the tournament organizers prepare. If an insufficient number of teams register for a division, it will be collapsed into other divisions. To ensure that everyone has a great time and that play is fair, we have strict rules about team composition.
§ Teams in C division can only have one player who has been rated B by NAGVA. Teams can not have players with a NAGVA BB rating or higher.
§ Teams in B division can only have one player who has been rated BB by NAGVA. Teams can not have players with a NAGVA A rating or higher.
§ Teams in BB can only have one player who has been rated A or higher by NAGVA.
§ Team rosters need to be finalized ahead of the tournament.
§ Teams may be moved or disqualified at the tournament director’s discretion if they are found to not be complying with the rules about team composition.
§ An unrated player who drops into or plays in C4 (Seattle D1) is considered NAGVA A.
§ An unrated player who drops into or plays in C3 (Seattle D2) is considered NAGVA BB.
§ An unrated player who drops into or plays in C2 (Seattle D3) is considered NAGVA B.
